Would you like to become a Shriner - a
member of the word's
greatest and perhaps least
known philanthropy....?
The best known of Masonic
organizations is the Shriners with their circuses, their colorful
parades and most importantly their work on behalf of physically disabled
or burned children.
Members of the Shrine of North America
are distinguished by an enjoyment of life in the interest of our great
philanthropy. In 2008, we budget over $800 million
dollars delivering world class medical care to disabled and
burned children - never billing parents or their insurance. Our buoyant
philosophy has been described as "pleasure without intemperance,
hospitality without rudeness and jollity without coarseness."
Less known is that each Shriner, at
the present time, must be a Mason before being admitted to the
Shrine. After becoming a Mason (which
presently can take one day in a "fast class") you can petition to become
a Shriner.
Speak with a Shriner (just click
Officers)
and one will help direct you to a "fast class" to become a Mason, the
first step. Next, you will petition to "cross the burning sands" of
initiation into the Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine
"AAONMS" after which you will be a "Noble"- a Shriner, a member of
the world's greatest philanthropy.
